As the sort of person who enjoys taking on new challenges it is fair to say I have enjoyed a varied career so far. My first job was working as an Administrator for Sun Lane Ltd, a firm of debt collectors based in Southend on Sea and this was followed by a Team Manager role at Judith Grace Marketing, a direct marketing company. It was then I had my first taste of IT Recruitment as a Resourcer at GCS Recruitment Specialists in London.
Having previously only worked in office based roles I decided I wanted to try something different – so my next role was as a bartender/waitress at a high quality gastro pub in Essex where I honed my first class customer service skills and learned to thrive under pressure. These skills were further developed when my hobby and my career combined and I became Manager of the Switch Skate Store that specialises in all things skateboard related.
I decided to try my hand at sales so I found myself at my next role as a Mobility Advisor at CareCo before returning to Recruitment at Winter Court Consulting in June 2015 as Candidate Manager.
So what does a Candidate Manager do? I hear you ask.
The priority is staying in touch and keeping all of our candidates informed throughout every stage of the interview process. This means when there is an unavoidable delay in giving feedback or simply that the process is taking longer than expected we let them know what is happening and that they haven’t been forgotten.
The Candidate Manager helps to arrange interviews and make sure all candidates are comfortable with when and where they are going and lets them know what to expect (and even what to wear!). The Candidate Manager is also there to answer any questions they may have no matter how big or small – we may not have all the answers but can usually find someone that does!
As well as looking after candidates the Candidate Manager also helps to find new ones through sourcing activities, and networking. If you are interested in connecting please feel free to reach out!
Now, I’m a Recruiter at Winter Court Consulting and I have the opportunity to use all my skills to find and hire the best people to join the great companies we work with (and you can still connect with me and ask all the questions you want!)
In my spare time I love socialising with friends sitting in a quiet pub and catching up. I also love attending live music venues and I regularly go to gigs, particularly in Camden. I enjoy going to competitions such as skateboarding and even skateboard myself a little bit.
Note from Jo:
In December 2015 Tasha raised money for MacMillan Cancer Support by shaving off all her hair – it looks great and I’m sure the extra time she can spend in bed is much appreciated! Go Tasha!
